Why Natural Soap is a better bet for Sweaty Skin (Athletes, take note)

Whether you're running the hills, grafting at the gym, cycling through wind and rain, or just putting your body through its paces—sweat happens. And if you're showering once or twice a day to keep clean, your skin’s taking a fair bit of wear and tear.
Most commercial soaps aren’t doing your skin any favours.
Here’s why natural soap is a better shout for anyone with sweaty, hardworking skin.
1. No Harsh Chemicals or Detergents
A lot of big-brand soaps and shower gels are loaded with synthetic detergents like SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate). They’re made to strip oil—so they strip everything. That “squeaky clean” feeling? It’s actually your skin barrier saying help me!
Natural soap cleans properly without going too far. We use plant-based oils and butters—like olive, coconut, kokum and shea—that lift the grime but leave your skin feeling like skin.
2. Doesn’t Mess With Your Skin Barrier
Sweating all the time, especially during training, throws your skin off balance. Harsh washes only make it worse.
Natural soap helps your skin stay steady. It keeps in the glycerin—a natural byproduct of the soapmaking process—that draws moisture in and helps stop your skin drying out like old boots.
3. No Synthetic Fragrance or Colours
When you’re hot, sweating, and your pores are wide open, whatever’s on your skin is going in. Synthetic scents and colours often found in shop-bought soaps can irritate skin or cause breakouts—especially if you're already washing frequently.
Our bars are scented only with proper essential oils, and coloured with clays or natural botanicals. Nothing fake, nothing pointless.
4. Cleans Properly Without Wrecking Your Skin
Natural doesn’t mean weak. A well-made bar of soap will still give you a cracking lather and shift sweat, grime, and bacteria without the chemical overload.
Plus —no plastic bottle, no pump to break, just a solid bar that keeps going. Although you might want to get a little soap box to keep your bar in tip top condition. Don't sling it in your kit bag or wrap it in a towel - it'll get all sorts of crud stuck to it.
5. Made for Daily (or Twice-Daily) Use
Let’s be honest—if you’re training, working outdoors, or breaking a sweat regularly, you’re showering more than most. Our soap’s built for that. No dryness —just clean, happy skin ready for round two.
In Short?
If you take care of your fitness, take care of your skin too. Natural soap gives you a proper clean, with no rubbish ingredients and no drama.
