Want to know about our farm...

Here's a peak into life on our farm

Picture this: rolling green hills, the sound of mooing cows,
corn fields swaying in the breeze and the smell of fresh herbs and roses
wafting through the air. That's the daily scene on this quirky little farm
nestled in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. It's a place where tradition meets
innovation, where hard work meets a good old-fashioned sense of humour.

From the crack of dawn until the sun sets (and sometimes
well into the night,) we are hard at work tending to the cattle, corn fields,
herbs and roses. It's a labour of love that has been passed down through three
generations, each one adding their own unique twist to the mix.

As the cows graze peacefully in the fields, the corn sways in
the breeze, and the herbs and roses reach for the sun, it's easy to see why we
are so passionate about our farm. It's not just a job - it's a way of life.

Want to know a bit more about our farming practices?

Well, we use regenerative farming practices which is an
agricultural approach that focuses on restoring and enhancing the health of the soil, ecosystems, and biodiversity.  Why do we do this?  Well, put simply we’re
big believers in ‘if we don’t look after our land it won’t help look after us.’

Here's a few highlights about the benefits of regenerative
farming:

No-till or reduced tillage: Minimizes soil disturbance, helping to maintain soil structure and health.

Cover cropping: Planting cover crops to protect and enrich the soil during off-seasons.  Cover crops also help reduce soil erosion

Crop rotation: Growing different types of crops in succession to improve soil health and reduce pest and disease cycles.

Composting: Adding organic matter to the soil to enhance its nutrient content and structure.  This sounds fancy but it’s what most people call ‘muck spreading.’

Grazing: Managing livestock grazing patterns to mimic natural ecosystems, which can improve soil health and biodiversity.

So, there you have it – a glimpse into the world of our small family farm in the Brecon Beacons. It's a place where laughter (and the odd argument) is as abundant, where hard work is rewarded with a sense of pride, and where the bond of family is stronger than ever.
